So Sweet

So I came back to the hotel with the girls last night and Doug stayed at the hospital. He called about 1 am to say they took the breathing tube out and Cooper was talking. (So much for 12-24 hours. More like 4 or 5!)

Doug has been back and forth from the room to the sleeping room catching an hour of sleep here and there.

They took Cooper off pain meds (really?!!!?!) about 5 this morning and put him back on morphine about 6:30 because he was complaining his chest hurt. After his meds Doug told him he could go back to sleep now. Cooper opened his eyes and said, "Thanks, Dad." "You can go back to sleep now, too."

He's been asking for me so the girls and I are going up there soon. Doug said he looks alot better than last night and many of the tubes are gone. Also there were wires still in his heart and coming out through his chest (uggghhh). They were left in so they could pace his heart if he had arrhythmias or anything. Gone, too.

We'll let the girls see him. They're going home today with Doug.
